Lalande 21185

Besides the barely habitable planet Lippincott, there are 3 gas giants in the Lalande 21185 system. The first lies within 2.2 times the Earth-Sun distance (AU) to the star — around the inner boundary of the main asteroid belt in the Solar System. It has about nine tenths of Jupiter’s mass, a highly circular orbit (e~0.0), and a period of 5.8 years.

The second gas giant lies about 11 AUs away in the first planet’s orbital plane, with perhaps 1.6 Jupiter masses, a highly circular orbit (e~0), and a period of 30 years.

There is a third gas giant lying beyond 11 AUs with around one Jupiter mass and a longer orbital period.
